| Visitors to the region (the Tweed Valley, located between Byron Bay and the Gold Coast), and members of other bird groups are welcome to join us at our meetings and outings. Once you're in the area, just phone a contact to confirm attendance and details, as these can be subject to change because of weather and other cirumstances. | |
Birdwatching Outings:Outings are held on the second Sunday of the month, starting at 7.30am local time. Usually arranged up to six months in advance, outings details (PDF 70kb) are published in the member newsletter (PDF 137kb). Visitors are welcome to join us. Contacts: Matthew Angus on tel. Weekly Thursday Outings:Some Tweed Bird Observers are also members of other bird interest groups like Waders/Shore birds group or the Australian Atlasers; and go on bird watching outings on Thursday each week. (07) 5590 9254, on the Tuesday prior if you'd like to go along. The Gold Coast Bird Observers:Have a full day outing each Thursday to places near and far. Tweed Bird Observers are welcome to join them for outings. Contact Col Collins, ( 07) 5535 5499 the Sunday or Monday prior for details. Ballina/Lismore/Brunswick Bird Observers:Brunswick Valley Bird Watchers meets fortnightly, every 2nd Wednesday for outings around the region. Visitors welcome. Contact Wendy McFadden on tel. While there are also many other great bird watching spots, a number are unavailable without landholders permission, and it is best to contact one of our local birdos to guide you. Additional bird watching opportunities are also available at the many tourist accommodations that are located through-out the valley and nearby Gold Coast hinterland. |
