Usually located on rainforest or bush blocks, Eco Lodges and Nature Retreats may be accredited under NEAP*, or they choose to adhere to the general Code of Practice for Ecotourism Operators, with environmentally friendly accomodation, facilities and measures in place.

These may include environmental conservation and rehabilitation programs, and/or educational or scientific monitoring programs.  Passive activities like bushwalking and bird watching will generally be available on site. Most hosts will also have a library of relevant books and local information.  Tariff is indicative only (per night/off peak).
