A choice of dog walks are available in and around Mullumbimby.
Brunswick
Heritage Park, alongside Brunswick River, is a favouritie
stroll. There's
an unleashed riverside
park setting containing an open green area, with a tree
shaded area alongside a children's playground, and a myriad choice
of meditative settings for contemplation and photographic shoots.
A further choice of delightful, picturesque, historical
laneways meander through the village where you can find
restuarants with pet friendly outside dining available.
Just 7 minutes drive to Brunswick Heads Surf Life Saving Club, will
bring you to Byron Shire's longest leashed/unleashed dog friendly
beach. The one kilometre beach
walk is available from Brunswick Heads Surf Life Saving Club
south towards
Byron Bay.
A longer beach walk is available from the beachside
settlement of New Brighton, south to the northern break of Brunswick
River.
Even further north
at Golden
Beach,
another pet friendly beach walk is available from Gloria Street
to Billinudgel Nature Reserve.
The opportunity
to dine
and wine with your pet
(under control) is available at a number of Brunswick Heads restaurants,
who offer al fresco/footpath dining.
In Byron Bay proper,
there's a pet
friendly area from Manfred Street at Belongil, to the western side
of the Main Beach Car Park, including Cavanbah Reserve, Tallow
Beach south towards Suffolk Park is
a designated dog exercise area.
Local vets are located at Billinudgel,
Mullumbimby, Byron Industrial complex and
Suffolk Park. |

The following areas are approved dog off leash exercise areas within
the Tweed Shire*:
- South Kingscliff Beach - for 2km south of the Council access
near Cudgen Creek.
- Boyds Family Park, Tweed Heads West.
- The public park in Frangella Drive, Murwillumbah.
- The public park between numbers 73 and 89 River Street,
Murwillumbah.
- South Cabarita Beach - 200m south of Norries Headland to
a point one kilometre north of Cudgera Creek.
- South Pottsville Beach - 200m south of the board and chain
walk to 200m north of Black Rocks.
- South Fingal / Kingscliff Beach - from a point 2km north
of the beach access point opposite the Kingscliff Police
Station to a point 0.5km south of the beach access point
at the Fingal Head Quarry.
- Corowa Park - Corner of Chinderah Road and Terrace Street,
Chinderah.
- Turnock Park - Corner of Chinderah Road and Chinderah Bay
Drive, Chinderah.
- The riverbank reserve at the end of Old Ferry Road, Oxley
Cove.
- The reserve on the corner of Naponyah Road and Bilambil Road,
Terranora.
- The treed area within Arkinstall Park, Tweed Heads South.
- The unnamed reserve on the corner of Darlington Drive and
Amaroo Drive, Banora Point.
- The unnamed reserve at the bottom of Bushland Drive, Banora
Point.
