Mr. Paul Alister 'Co-operatives and the Maleny Story' Film maker, author, social activist. Has lived and worked on a co-operative land community near Maleny for 17 years. Founding member and currently management board member of a 130 student independent school. Runs a video and multi media business called Alister Multimedia. Made documentary called 'Creating Prosperous Communities' which depicts how co-operative enterprises have added vitality to a town of about 6000 people which is the second biggest co-operative town in the world. 4 P.M. Dr. Michael Towsey 'Empowering Local Communities in Australia Today' Computer scientists at Queensland University of Technology. Has research interests in machine learning and artificial intelligence. Has had a life long interest in Economics. Is a foundation member of the PROUT Institute of Australia and the PROUT community settlement co-operative in Maleny.
